Zanu-PF confident of winning Wedza by-election

The Zanu-PF Mashonaland East leadership led by Politburo member Sydney Sekeramayi has said the party’s candidate is already assured of victory in the Wedza Rural District Council Ward 4 by-election set for this Saturday.

Addressing thousands of Zanu-PF supporters who had gathered to drum up support for the party’s candidate, Shorai Manjeya, Sekeramayi said the turnout by people for the rally was evidence that the seat had been won already while the party’s Mashonaland East Chairperson, Joel Biggie Matiza promised a resounding victory.

“Our candidate has already won, the elections are just a formality as evidenced by the high numbers of people attending this rally,” Sekeramayi said addressing the crowd.

“As a province, we are the backbone of the party and this ward is already ours as we are promising a resounding victory,” Matiza added.

Zanu-PF National Political Commissar, Victor Matemadanda, said the West should rally behind the party as victory was certain in their camp than anywhere else.

“My advice to the West is that they should not waste their resources supporting losing parties, come and join Zanu-PF and have a taste of sweet victory,” Matemadanda said.

The parties Youth League led by Provincial Chairman, Kelvin Mutsvairo also took time to engage the youths and assisted them as part of youth empowerment programme in the ward.
