BRIEFLY: Tendai Chirau – Zanu-PF Youth League’s Secretary for Administration

This is BRIEFLY’s 3rd edition of 2019, and we have a chat with Zanu-PF Youth League’s National Secretary for Administration, Tendai Chirau. He tells us what he loves to do after a busy day at work, and he gives some advice to Zimbabweans on social media… And Chirau reveals the one Minister in the current Cabinet who he is willing to give a high-five!

Q: What was your first job?
A: Casual worker at a farm

Q: What’s your biggest regret in your life so far?
A: Nothing. I own up to everything I do.

Q: US dollar or Zimbabwe dollar… Which one would you rather we use in Zimbabwe right now?
A: Zimbabwe Dollar

Q: What book have you been reading?
A: Urban Housing, a National Crisis by Diana Auriet

Q: What is one thing about you that most people don’t know?
A: I’m prayerful.

Q: You’re given the keys to the State House today. What are the first two things you’d do for Zimbabweans?
A: Will see when I’m given the keys.

Q: You are a very busy person. What are the things you always do despite a busy schedule?
A: Play with children.

Q: If you were to go back in time to your teenage years, what would you do differently?
A: I will not ask for a ride from a bike which isn’t mine.

Q: The year is about to end, and many are planning their holiday destinations. Which place in Zimbabwe fascinates you the most, and why?
A: The Eastern Highlands. The nature there is on point.

Q: Is President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s New Dispensation indeed new? Why?
A: Yes, the policy thrust is different, especially on re-engagement.

Q: After a hard day’s work, what do you want at your dinner table?
A: Sadza with beef and vegetables.

Q: What advice do you give to Zimbabweans who are on social media?
A: Social media breaks the distance barriers and makes communication faster. However, it must be used responsibly.

Q: If you were not in your current occupation, what else would you be doing?
A: Mining.

Q: Is Zimbabwe a unique country, and if yes, in what way?
A: Yes, Zimbabwe has intelligent and very hospitable people.

Q: What type of music really gets your day started?
A: Afro-Jazz.

Q: Which one Minister in the current Cabinet would you give a high-five?
A: Sibusiso Busi Moyo
