Two senior officials in the Ministry of Defence and War Veterans, Peter Muchakazi the Director of Procurement and Kunofiwa Mervyn Madondo an accountant on Thursday appeared before Harare Magistrates’Courts facing fraud charges.

The two were asked to surrender their passports, reside at their given addresses and not visit Defence House, and were also ordered to report three times weekly at the nearest police station.

The total amount of money raised from the fake invoices breached RTGS300 000, representing the figure the two allegedly caused government to lose.
