A speeding driver lost control of his Toyota Wish station wagon vehicle along the Mutare-Vumba highway and veered off the road, killing two pupils while injuring another.
Police in Manicaland confirmed the accident which occurred early this week, saying that the third victim died upon admission at hospital.
The children aged five, six and seven – were coming from school when they were hit at the 28km peg along Mutare-Vumba road.
“The driver was speeding and lost control of his vehicle, leading to the fatalities. We urge motorists to exercise caution ⚠ and follow road rules and regulations to avoid unnecessary loss of lives,” Manicaland police spokesperson, Inspector Tavhiringwa Kakohwa, told Zimbabwe Voice in an interview.
