Avoid handling cash to stay safe from COVID-19: Steward Bank

LEADING commercial bank Steward Bank has shut down two branches until further notice in a bid to stem the spread of the coronavirus, and has gone on a campaign to encourages the public to make use of its digital platforms for the good of the nation.

This follows President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s recent encouragement that as much as possible, the public must reduce cash transactions as that may help slow down the spread of the novel COVID-19 which has to date killed over 19,000 in the world.

“Dear Customer, to reduce potential exposure to COVID-19, we’ve closed Victoria Falls and Gunhill Branches. Kindly make use of our digital platforms to transact,” said Steward Bank in a statement.

“Avoid handling cash to stay safe from exposure to Covid-19 and dial *210# for your banking requirements. Prevention is better than cure!

“Reduce your exposure to crowds and unnecessary travel by transacting and paying bills on the Steward Bank digital platforms.

“Transact and pay bills on your mobile device and on our online banking platforms. Stay safe as we fight COVID-19,” said the bank.
