ZIMBABWE’S apparent wobbly preparedness for the coronavirus pandemic will be expected to top the agenda as the ruling Zanu-PF Politburo meets today.
The Zanu-PF Secretary for Information and Publicity, Simon Khaya-Moyo, advised the media yesterday that the ruling party will today convene an ordinary session of the Politburo at its headquarters in Harare.
“The Secretary for Administration Cde Dr O.M Mpofu wishes to advise all members that there shall be a Politburo meeting to be held on Wednesday 25 March, 2020 at the party’s headquarters commencing 1000hrs.
“All members should be seated by 0945hrs sharp,” said Khaya Moyo.
Zimbabwe has so far reported three confirmed cases of the coronavirus, with one death this last Monday of television personality Zororo Makamba.
The third confirmed coronavirus patient, according to the Ministry of Health and Child Care, is a male Zimbabwean who came into contact with the now deceased.
Makamba is believed to have contracted the virus while on a recent trip to New York. – Zimbabwe Voice
